Economic Recovery?

28 months ago, Congress passed Obama’s economic stimulus law.  I guess it was designed to stimulate our economy.

Has it worked?

Well…today…2 1/3 years later, there are 1.9 MILLION fewer people employed in our country!

The White House and the left-leaning media can talk about us being in an economic recovery all they want, but that doesn’t make it so.

What is it going to take in order for us to get things going again?

There has to be DEMAND for stuff!  People have to want to…and be able to buy things!

In the recent past, more people had jobs, which of course, gave them more money.

In the recent past, people had equity in their homes, which many tapped in the form of home-equity loans.  This gave them more money.

In the recent past, banks would more-freely extend loans.  This gave people more money.

In the past, people weren’t afraid of the future.  Today they are saving any extra money they have…and only spending when they have to do so.

So, except for the upper-income tier folks, you have people with disposable income who aren’t disposing of it…and you have people with no disposable income at all!  And that means that demand has gone way down.

We are not in a recovery mode.  We need a leader who has business experience, not a slick-talking, economically-ignorant community organizer.
