Why Now?

So, Mr. Obama has finally produced a birth certificate.  Why now?

In my opinion, with Donald Trump on the scene, there was at last a bona fide, credible person who was asking the question.  And a person who had the means to investigate the circumstances.  No longer could Barack dismiss the allegations as simply a goofy fringe element of the Tea Party.

If this document has existed since 1961, why didn’t Barack reveal it earlier?  How hard would that have been to put this issue to rest?

Was there a political advantage to keeping it hidden?  He talks today about not having time to deal with such a “circus-sideshow” issue.  How much time and money has he invested in this, when it would have been so much simpler and cheaper to just show the document?

This is why suspicions are being raised.

Beyond that, as a general rule, one ought never to naively believe any politician.  Rather than adopting a position of “Trust, but verify,” when dealing with politicians, it should be “Don’t trust until totally verified.”  Prevarication goes with the territory
