The more I read and study, the more I understand why so much of the rest of the world hates the “Ugly Americans.” (By “American,” I’m referring to the U.S. of America not Latin or South America.)
What most of our citizens don’t realize is that an intricately arcane and very powerful organization exists, whose mission it is to expand the U.S. influence across the globe. The results of this covert conspiratorial effort leave other countries (mostly the lesser developed nations) in worse shape for the majority of the populace than prior to our intervention.
For those in the other countries, the rich get richer and the poorer get poorer. The U.S. interests (especially those of the big business firms) always see a boost in their wealth.
Some see this as an outgrowth of both Manifest Destiny and the Monroe Doctrine – basically asserting that the U.S. has special rights to dominate the hemisphere.
But it goes beyond changing regimes in just Central or South America. Our “influencers” have gotten involved in Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Libya – just to name a few.
If we cannot accomplish our objective militarily, we will do it economically. Either way, the “other guy” is left worse than before.
Where do we get the gall and gumption to think that our way is the best way….a way that needs to be forced on others? Especially if those others happen to be blocking one of our primary interests. (U.S. Fruit in Guatemala….the canal when Panama used to be Columbia…or oil in the Middle East.)
Here’s something to think about….
I wonder how others would perceive the United States, if, instead of dropping bombs and firing missiles and machine guns, we took all that money and provided food for the hungry and health care for the poor.
Wouldn’t that be something? Of course, that would only help millions of poor people who are struggling to succeed in Maslow’s basic bottom hierarchy of needs and not the few at the top of the pyramid who hold all the wealth.
